What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the most well known of about 100 different phytochemicals found in the cannabis plant, known as phytocannabinoids. It is non-psychoactive, meaning it will not get you high. CBD is similar to a compound that our bodies produce naturally called endocannabinoids. Not only are cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, they’re also naturally occurring in nature in broccoli, kale, etc.

What are the benefits of CBD?

CBD works because we have an endocannabinoid system in our bodies. This endocannabinoid system is responsible for our homeostasis or the body’s ability to maintain itself and function properly. It is involved in regulating things such as appetite, pain sensation, memory and mood. There are actually receptors all over our body in our brain, stomach, nervous system, and organs that have cell receptors for the ‘cannabinoids’. By using CBD infused supplements, we can help jump start this system to help with pain, inflammation, stress and sleep.

Will I get high from CBD

No. Our products contain less than 0.3% THC ( the mind-altering component of cannabis) We source our CBD from industrial hemp, where advanced technology allows for the removal of any trace amounts of THC without disturbing the other naturally synergistic compounds.

How do topical CBD products work?

Inflammation is the culprit for many skin issues. Studies show CBD to have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, which is great for the skin, joints and muscles. Our full-spectrum CBD oil is also naturally filled with vitamins A, D, and E and contains high levels of essential fatty acids (omega 3 and 6), which all work to enhance skin health and overall youthfulness.

Why does the amount of CBD vary in products?

We vary the amount of CBD in our products based on their purpose. With our lip balm and body lotion, we approach CBD like a vitamin allowing for smaller amounts to be absorbed into the skin through daily use, supplementing the body’s natural reserves. We also have our concentrated Relief Lotion to target specific areas that need a little more TLC. It’s important to note that self-experimentation is key in figuring out what amount of CBD is needed! CBD is adaptive and will affect each individual differently based on their level of inflammation, their body’s naturally occurring cannabinoid level and their own personal absorption rate. For instance, someone looking for a product to ease discomfort with soreness may want to use a more concentrated mg count than someone using CBD for daily maintenance, but it’s also contingent on the above-mentioned factors as well.

The general rule for a starting dosage is 0.1mg per kg of your pets weight. Here is an example for a 55 lbs dog: First convert to kilograms: 55 lbs divided by 2.2 = 25 kg Then find your starting dose: 25 kg x 0.1 mg = 2.5 mg twice a day - TO START As each animals' system is different so figuring out the exact dosage for your pet may be tricky. This is why we start low and slowly raise the dosage until the desired effects are obtained. Some animals need more, while some need less. Finding the right balance is the key to a healthy and happy pet.

Is it possible my pet could get high from too much CBD?

No! Hemp does not contain any intoxicating components, it will just help your pet feel better.
